Tourists from all over the world come to see the beauty of Beylerbeyi, which Lawrence Durrell describes in his book 'Bitter Lemons of Cyprus'. Beylerbeyi village, located on a green hill and only 10 minutes away from Kyrenia, evokes the feeling of being behind the times.

The famous Bellapais Monastery was built about 900 years ago by monks who migrated from Jerusalem. The spring that once watered the vegetable garden in the garden of the monastery still flows. Today, the monastery hosts classical music concerts in spring and summer. Bellapais Monastery, where international music festivals and concerts are held, is located in this village. Property prices in this village are higher than in other regions.
 
You can sit for hours and watch the scenery under the historical mulberry tree, which is at least as old as the monastery, which Durrell calls the 'Tree of Tranquility', in the garden of which you can drink coffee.
